BIS Pacifyre® Downlighter Covers

BIS Pacifyre^® DC Intumescent fire hoods have been developed in order to give maximum protection to ceilings with installed recessed light fittings. In the event of fire the fire hood expands inwards and will therefore fill the available space with a fire resistant and strongly insulating charcoal.

Ceiling light fittings must be mounted in compliance with the recommendations of the manufacturer of the ceiling.

• Lightweight and flexible
• Prevents fire from penetrating ceiling apertures thereby keeping the protective fire resistance of the ceiling unimpaired
• Material: mineral fibre material (thickness approx. 12.7 mm)
• With ventilation perforations to help reduce build-up of heat in the fitting
• Simple installation either from above or below the ceiling; can be fitted in seconds; suitable for new build and renovations
• No drilling, screwing or support is necessary
• Suitable for fire resistant ceilings, acoustic ceilings, suspended ceilings, plasterboard and concrete ceilings
• Suitable for a large group of low and high voltage lighting
• Suitable for suspended ceilings with a fire resistance of 10 to 30 or to 60 minutes
• Moisture resistant, non-toxic and does not contain asbestos
• Maintenance-free

BIS Pacifyre^® DC Intumescent fire covers for downlighters have been tested as follows:

• sound insulation index: test in accordance with BS EN ISO 140 Part 3:1995 and EN ISO 140 part 6:1998. Test report: 213942 (BRE)
• suspended ceiling: BS476 Part 23:1987. Effective duration of protection 72 minutes (no power cut). Certificate No. FEI/F99029/Chiltern
• suspended ceiling with wood, steel or concrete beam finished with plasterboard; Test number CHILT/A02105/Chiltern. Effective protection duration 60 minutes
• plasterboard ceiling: BS-EN 1365-2:2000. Integrity remains: 60 minutes (no powercut). Insulation 60 minutes (no power cut) Certificate No. TE94667/BRE
