BIS Pacifyre® MK II Fire Sleeve
For plastic leadthroughs or metal pipes
The BIS Pacifyre® MK II Fire Sleeve is a single part fire sleeve which seals a pipe lead-through with a grommet type seal making it fire resistant and smoke tight. Only one BIS Pacifyre® MK II Fire Sleeve is required to seal off the aperture between the pipe and the wall or ceiling making it fire resistant and smoke proof. Escape routes and rescue access therefore remain unobstructed for longer and free of smoke, allowing occupants to vacate the building in good time and in a safe manner.
Unique features
The Pacifyre® MK II has many unique properties. The sleeve:
-
Is easily and simply installed
-
Is suitable for apertures through floors, ceilings, solid walls and stud walls

Is maintenance-free and unaffected by moisture or any other building chemicals in common use
-
Does not affect the duct or any other construction components
-
Guaranteed to remain operational for decades
-
Permits shrinkage and expansion or sideways movement of the ducting
-
Does not contain any asbestos or other dangerous substances
-
Does not emit any toxic fumes or develop any smoke worth mentioning in the event of fire

Limits operational noise transmission between pipe and wall or ceiling
BIS Pacifyre® MK II Fire Sleeve in action
The BIS Pacifyre® MK II Fire Sleeve consists of a stainless steel collar for counter pressure and protection. A low-expansion material guarantees the seal in the event of fire and the three strips of foam do not permit smoke to penetrate to the adjacent room or escape and rescue route.
When used around a metal pipe, the collar seals off the space between the pipe and the wall making it fire resistant. If the metal pipe is insulated, the collar squeezes the insulating material to seal the gap between the pipe and the wall to make the aperture fire proof. When used around a plastic pipe, the collar seals off the leadthrough by completely squeezing the pipe.
The fire sleeve will expand from a temperature of 140°C. If the operational temperature of the pipe exceeds 120°C, the aperture must first be thermally insulated before installing the BIS Pacifyre MK II Fire Sleeve around the insulation.
Strength in fire resistance
The BIS Pacifyre MK II particularly shows its strength in fire resistance. We are pleased to present the independently tested facts in the table below:
| Fire resistance | Concrete / Aerated concrete | Stud / system wall |
| Metal pipe | up to 240 minutes | up to 150 minutes |
| Plastic pipe | up to 120 minutes | up to 120 minutes |
