Tangit® Unilock Screw thread sealing
Making a screw thread gas- or watertight with Teflon tape or hemp is quite a task. You may well ask yourself: "Isn't there an easier way?" There sure is! With Tangit® Unilock.
Unilock is a reliable seal for screw-thread connections. The product is quick and clean to use. A few turns are all that's needed. Unilock is made of multiple nylon threads soaked in a silicone solution. It is vibration- and weather-resistant and comes in a compact holder containing 80 or 160 metres of thread.
Universally applicable
Tangit® Unilock is suitable for sealing conical and cylindrical screw-thread connections, in both metal and plastic. The product can also be used in gas lines. The connection can be twisted back a half turn without the risk of leaks. And you don't need a spanner for tightening. Try doing that with hemp! Whereas Teflon tape or hemp harden over time, screw threads sealed with Unilock are even simple to remove after several years.
Practical test
Manufacturer Henkel sent Tangit® Unilock for practical testing with some 100 European installers. During one test on a large building project, it became clear that Unilock finished off a 1" connection in up to 50% of the time required with hemp. The cost saving per connection is up to 45%!
Tangit® Unilock is suitable for:
- Hot and cold water up to 7 bar (-20 ºC to +130 ºC)
- Natural gas (city gas), butane, propane, compressed air up to 16 bar
- Plastics such as PVC-U, PVC-C, PP and PE
- Metals (steel, copper, cast iron, brass, RVS and aluminium)
- Diameters up to 6”
