Reporting to: Operations Manager, UK Management Team
Liaise: Closely with all departments across the business and the wider European Operations Management Team
To work as part of the Walraven Ltd, Banbury team providing a comprehensive and effective service throughout.
This post demands a high level of organisational efficiency, a professional, safe, and considerate approach at all times.
The post requires an individual who is a highly motivated and has the ability to structure and prioritise their own workload as well as others, can set and manage objectives, coach and mentor staff, promote and implement continuous improvement of employees and working practices.
Continuous improvement of the service level and flow of goods through the business, ensuring the products meet quality standards and will be shipped to the customer with the right documentation, on time, and in accordance with the service standards.
Working with local and group colleagues to continually develop the company’s stock management and logistics strategy with the aim of controlling costs within budgetary limits, generating savings, rationalising inventory and continually improving logistical performance
Liaise closely, and offer guidance to the production team regarding management of production stock and priority planning
Where advised, take responsibility of some facility and machinery maintenance, issues, liaising with appropriate personnel. This may include, but limited to internal users; HR, H&S, Environmental, IT and Facilities
Manage, and/or other involvement in strategic projects as directed by the Operations Manager. Ensuring such projects are run in accordance with Walraven guidelines and all necessary reporting procedures are adhered to, ensuring timely and concise reporting to the Operations Manager and the Management Team
Identify process issues throughout the department and ensure corrective and or preventative actions are identified and carried out
Ensure all Health and Safety guidelines and measures are adhered to throughout the department. Reporting all accidents, near misses and possible H & S risks to the H & S Committee
Responsibility for maintaining Policies & Procedures in area of accountability in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and future 14001, Environmental Management System standards. Providing reports and analysis where required
Develop and maintain high communicative levels with colleagues across all departments throughout the Walraven Group
To continually develop the necessary personal skills to undertake a wide range of tasks ensuring flexibility in the workplace
Some foreign travel to various Group countries to build relationships with colleagues and for participation in meetings and events
To carry out any other duties as required by the Operations Manager, UK Management Team and the wider group Management Team
The post holder will be expected to adopt a flexible attitude to the duties and location of work, which may have to be varied subject to the needs of the Company and in keeping with the general profile of the post. This may entail some work outside office hours
It is expected that the post holder will develop the necessary skills to also:
Be responsible for the negotiating and/or overseeing local supplier agreements, taking responsibility for major supplier contracts
Actively participate in the maintenance of Quality Assurance by reporting all quality issues and following controlled process procedures
Actively support Walraven’s Environmental policy by minimising waste, maximising reuse/recycling, ensuring all spills are handled as per company procedure etc.
The Operations Manager will provide 1:1’s and appraisals.
Staff will be provided with the necessary education, training and support to enable them to meet this responsibility
