Job Description

Base: Walraven Ltd, Banbury

Accountable to: National Sales Manager, UK Management Team

Liaise with:

Overall objectives of the post

To work as part of the UK Sales team in a critical technical customer facing role working to promote the Walraven Brand, identify and develop added value solution offerings and gain specification of the Walraven product portfolio to the building services industry on a national basis.

A strong technical/engineering background will be essential as the Technical Sales Manager must be able to develop a rapid understanding of specific client needs and be able to advise on technical solution opportunities and discuss possible design offerings where appropriate.

This post requires a highly organised, confident, self-motivated individual. They will be a key relationship builder, developing contacts at all levels of business and business types with the ability to manage and prioritise their workload and communicate in a timely, clear and concise manner at all times.

Responsibilities for Health & Safety

The post holder is responsible for ensuring that all duties and responsibilities of this post are carried out in compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Statutory Regulations and Walraven’s Policies and Procedures.  This will be supported by the provision of training and specialist advice when required.

This may entail some work outside office hours.

Personal Specification


Educational, achievements, qualifications and training:  HNC/ HND or Degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, Capability in Solidworks or other bespoke CAD packages, Previous experience in technical or specification sales, Driving license

Job related aptitude and skills: Excellent inter-personal skills, Ability to prioritise workloads and recognize urgent situations. Attention to detail, project management skills and the ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines.

Personal Qualities: Reliable, self-motivated, with the ability to work as part of a team, Common sense, honesty and confidence in self to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers alike. Capable of using initiative, and an understanding of limitations
