Some of the points discussed\u00a0are summarized below:<\/p>\n<h2>Importance of early engagement when addressing fire safety<\/h2>\n<p>It was widely agreed that building designers and architects should engage with manufacturers and fire safety experts at the design stage of projects to consider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walraven.com\/en\/about-walraven\/news\/testing-fire-stopping-systems\/\">passive fire protection requirements<\/a>. This will allow for the right systems to be specified to ensure the best fire protection is in place, and avoid the fire protection element becoming an afterthought on a project &#8211; which unfortunately, can often be the case.<\/p>\n<h2>Lack of understanding leads to poor installation on site<\/h2>\n<p>The representative from the IFC commented that he had too frequently seen that a lack of understanding of the issues around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walraven.com\/en\/how-to-guides\/passive-fire-protection\/\">passive fire protection<\/a> can often give rise <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-51040\" src=\"https:\/\/www.walraven.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2017\/07\/Snip-of-people-at-table.png\" alt=\"Snip of people at table\" width=\"269\" height=\"205\" \/>to poor installation of fire protection solutions on site.
