We created top tips for installing concrete screws because unfortunately anchor failure due to incorrect installation is a real risk.<\/p>\n<h2>Why is the installation process so important for concrete screws?<\/h2>\n<p>Unfortunately, incorrect installation of anchors has historically lead to catastrophic anchor failures, resulting in serious injury and destruction of structures, along with costly re-work. But in this case it poses a significant risk and should be discouraged to ensure our installations are safe.<\/p>\n<h2>Here are our 5 top tips for installing concrete screws<\/h2>\n<p><strong>1. Anchors always require a drilled hole. <\/strong>Even though concrete screws have a thread, for safe installation they should always be screwed into a drilled hole.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Do not anchor into a bad hole. <\/strong>The drill hole should be created according to the specifications in the ETA. For example, it must be: <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-56799 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.walraven.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2020\/09\/hole-diameter-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"concrete screw installation\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.walraven.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2020\/09\/hole-diameter-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.walraven.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2020\/09\/hole-diameter-60x60.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>perpendicular to the surface<\/li>\n<li>the correct diameter and depth<\/li>\n<li>avoiding any reinforcement<\/li>\n<li>spaced correctly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Always clean the hole.<\/strong> This is the most common step to be skipped, but it is important to ensure the drill hole is cleaned of dust debris before inserting the screw anchor. Use tools with an appropriate amount of torque and do not overtighten the screws.<\/strong> The ETA will give you specific torque values to guarantee the performance of the screw anchor.
