Heavy-duty pipe bridge between buildings with Walraven Maxx
Armaflo, a key Walraven stockist and distributor of mechanical fixings, recently partnered with a customer to deliver a heavy-duty pipe bridge solution where traditional support systems fell short.
Overcoming the challenge of supporting heavy pipework across a wide span
The main challenge was that the pipework ran along one building before spanning a significant gap to another. Standard strut channels weren’t viable in this situation due to:
- Load capacity – The pipe’s weight exceeded what traditional systems could support.
- Span limitations – Additional support points weren’t feasible because of site constraints.
- Structural integrity – The system needed to handle static loads, thermal movement and expansion forces.
- Installation speed – A fast, efficient solution was critical to keeping the project on track.
