Delivering supports for a complex factory pipework system
To support the expansion of its production facilities, Omefa partnered with Walraven to develop a flexible pipe support system for its new materials department. The project was designed to improve workflow efficiency while providing the adaptability needed for future growth and process changes.
Supporting a new factory pipework system
Omefa, a leading manufacturer of high-quality plastic products, recently expanded its operations with a new materials department designed to increase production capacity and streamline logistics processes.
The challenge was to create a horizontal and vertical pipe support network to integrate seamlessly into the new facility while allowing silos to be relocated without disrupting material flow. The installation also supports the suction system responsible for transporting raw plastic pellets through the various stages of production. It was important for the support system to be modular to accommodate potential future layout changes.
In addition, an external rooftop solution was required to allow access to areas of the roof without damaging the rooftop surface.
Flexible and future-proof installation
As a specialist in innovative pipe support solutions, Walraven designed a modular fixing system tailored to Omefa’s operational requirements.
The supports for the factory pipework system incorporated Walraven RapidStrut® Systems and pipe clamps to create a flexible and user-friendly mounting grid throughout the facility. The modular design allows the installation to be assembled efficiently and modified or expanded in the future if organisational or production requirements change.
The pipe network supports the transport of raw materials across the facility, helping to maintain an efficient production flow from storage through to manufacturing.
Integrated rooftop access solution
The pipework installation extends beyond the warehouse and onto the roof, where Walraven designed several bespoke support systems across different staircase locations.
To ensure safe and convenient access to rooftop areas, Walraven developed custom mounting solutions tailored to the site’s specific requirements. Walraven installed Yeti® mounting feet to provide stability on the flat roof while eliminating the need for drilling and protecting the roof membrane from damage.
Delivering operational efficiency
Walraven combined modular fixing systems with tailored rooftop support solutions to create an installation for Omefa. The solution supports both current operations and future development.
As a result, Omefa now benefits from a flexible and efficient infrastructure. The installation optimises material flow, simplifies maintenance and provides the adaptability needed for continued growth.
