In a large plant room, our customer was faced with a critical challenge during the late phase of an installation project. A maintenance platform, including gratings and railings, was required for six pumps. The location of the installation was already densely populated with piping and electrical services, which further complicated the project.
The challenge was to develop a suitable support frame for the maintenance platform, that could be installed without affecting the existing plant room piping and equipment.
Due to the complex installation environment, Walraven engineers developed a tailor-made maintenance platform, using the Walraven Maxx system. This flexible, modular heavy-duty system is specially designed for large industrial structures with high load requirements.
Walraven engineers developed a platform solution with a characteristic payload of 4 kN/m², enabling the installation of pipelines and cable trays as well as access for service and maintenance work. The platform measures approximately 6 × 12 m and is located 3 m above the hall floor.
Solutions from the Walraven Maxx system – including profiles up to size MX150 (100 × 150 × 4.0) – were used, as well as the Walraven RapidStrut® channel system. This served as a system solution for gratings, railings and substructures for installations and technical equipment.
