Walraven Strut Bolt Set Socked Head
H2472

When installing the heating system for a large, modern residential property, plumber Chris Illingworth required an efficient solution for creating ceiling-hung pipe supports. Walraven RapidRail® Systems provided a lightweight alternative to traditional strut systems, helping to simplify installation at height.
The project involved fitting out the plant room and installing heating pipework throughout a new-build home heated by a ground source heat pump.
A key requirement was the installation of suspended pipework supported by ceiling-hung trapeze frames. Traditionally, these supports would have been constructed using standard 41×41 strut channel. However, the weight of the channel and the use of basic fixings can make overhead installation more challenging and time-consuming.
Chris wanted a lighter system that would make working at height easier while maintaining installation efficiency.
The project team selected Walraven RapidRail® Rail 30×20 for both wall-mounted pipework and the ceiling-hung trapeze frames.
To create the trapeze frames, the installers connected two Walraven RapidRail® sections with threaded rod and Walraven RapidRail® Slide Nuts. They then used Walraven RapidRail® Hammerfix Nuts with pre-cut stud to secure the pipe clips, resulting in a quick and straightforward installation process.
The lightweight Walraven RapidRail® rail, weighing less than 1 kg per metre, offered a significant advantage over traditional 41×41 strut channel, which weighs approximately 2.5 kg per metre.
The combination of lightweight channel and pre-assembled fixing components helped reduce installation time and simplify work at height.
