Walraven is seeking a Warehouse and Logistics Specialist who will report to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for the complete process from the supply of productions and trade items to the storage and the distribution to customers.
Core Objective:
Continuous improvement of the service level and flow of goods within their plant/entity to create a reliable stock. Strives to ensure products will arrive in time at the required location against the lowest possible costs. The product will meet the quality standards and will be shipped to the customer with the right documentation and in accordance with the agreed service standards.
What you will do:
1. Warehousing
- The Warehouse & Logistics Professional is responsible for the warehouse & logistics management process. He/she manages the processes, to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately.
- Ensures correct storage of the physical stock of finished products and semi-finished products.
- Ensures all products are stored in the right quantities, and it is always clear where the products are located.
- Is responsible for well-organized storage locations and a clean working environment.
- Is responsible for adherence to the safety standards in areas of responsibility.
- Has a good knowledge of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and is responsible for the continuous improvement of the WMS.
- The WMS is well maintained through proper procedures and regular cyclic counts.
- Ensures adequate stock of required packaging and shipping materials.
- All incoming and outgoing goods are provided with the right packing material.
2. Planning and stock
- The Warehouse and Logistics Professional is responsible for the warehouse & logistics management process. He/she manages the processes and systems, to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately, and internal productivity targets are met.
- Is responsible for accurate delivery of trade items and ensures that the stock level is sufficient to achieve the desired service level.
- Is responsible for inventory management.
- Is responsible for the purchase planning.
- Is responsible for the physical stock of the finished products.
3. Logistics
- The Warehouse and Logistics Professional is responsible for the inbound and outbound of goods and ensures that the distribution process runs optimally, and the transport of the products is arranged in due time against minimum costs.
- Ensures that each shipment will be provided with the necessary documents and that applicable matters with agencies (such as customs) are aligned.
- He/She is authorized to sign export documents.
4. Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment
- The Warehouse and Logistics Professional adheres to, and ensures all employees and visitors of the Warehouse are aware of, the observance of rules on working conditions, safety, and quality, as written in the rules and regulations.
- Ensures the required quality of the goods that are received, stored, and shipped from the warehouse.
- Responsible for the execution of the companies Health & Safety Policies in the warehouse.
- Ensures that employees work in accordance with applicable procedures and quality systems.
- Ensures an accurate registration of working accidents and initiates/contributes to required measures to prevent accidents.
- Is responsible for a neat, clean, and organized department.
- Is responsible for the forklifts and reach trucks, and ensures that they are used properly and maintained in a proper manner.
- In absence of the Plant Manager, the Warehouse & Logistics professional is the first point of contact for the Warehouse’s working environment.
5. Finance
- Contributes to realistic financial control and takes care of the weekly and monthly KPI’s.
- Ensures that all required data for reporting are accurate and delivered on time.
- Advises, corrects, and acts based on the analysis and figures.
6. HRM
- Responsible for having all relevant data on production and warehouse available for BP&I department to be able to improve and optimize all relevant business processes.
- Ensures easy access to the availability of accurate sourcing data about production for internal stakeholders (Planning, delivery, machines, etc.).
7. Business Information Process
- Is responsible for the development of all staff within the Warehouse and Logistics departments, so that they meet or will meet the current and future requirements for appropriate execution of the activities. He/She will get support from the HR department.
- Supports the Plant Manager by functionally directing the staff of the Warehouse and Logistics department.
- He/She is the first point of contact for employees (within the department) when problems arise. When required, these can be discussed with the Plant Manager.
What you have (Skills and Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related field
- 5 years experience in a Warehouse and a Logistic environment
- Technical knowledge and experience of Walraven products
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel Outlook) and ERP & WMS software
- Understands the organization and its processes
- Able to innovate and contribute to transformation processes
