Bridging the gap – a heavy duty pipe bridge solution

Armaflo are one of Walraven’s key stockists and distributors of mechanical fixings. They recently worked with a customer to tackle the challenge of installing a heavy duty pipe bridge—where traditional support systems simply wouldn’t suffice.

The challenge: Supporting heavy pipework across a wide span

The pipework ran along one building before spanning a significant gap to another. Standard strut channels weren’t viable in this situation due to:

• Load capacity – The pipe’s weight exceeded what traditional systems could support.
• Span limitations – Additional support points weren’t feasible given site constraints.
• Structural integrity – The system needed to handle static loads, thermal movement, and expansion forces.
• Installation speed – A fast, efficient solution was critical to keep the project on track.
