Expansion joints, seams and void spaces

Sealants for linear joints

To comply with building regulations on fire safety, buildings must be divided into fire compartments. The fire resistance of the walls and ceilings between these fire compartments can be compromised by seams, expansion joints and cavities.

Walraven’s Pacifyre® sealing products have been tested and approved for the effective fire-sealing of seams, joints and cracks between the walls, floors and ceilings of fire compartments. They are also effective for sealing annular joints around (insulated) pipes, fire collars and penetrations. Our solutions prevent the spread of fire and smoke through joints in fire-resistant partitions and offer excellent adhesion to most substrates. Below is an overview of our acrylic and hybrid fire-resistant sealants.

Tested for fire safety

Our products have been tested for fire resistance by accredited European testing institutes in accordance with EN 1366-4 and EN 1366-3 and offer fire resistance classified in accordance with EN 13501-2:2003 up to and including EI 240. This means: 240 minutes of integrity and insulation, depending on the material and configuration.

The Pacifyre acrylic and hybrid-based sealants are safe to use. They have an emission class of A, and the acrylic product has achieved the highest possible EC1plus classification under the EMICODE® system.  It also offers sound reduction performance of up to 62 dB in accordance with EN ISO 717-1.
